What the Care Plan gets you
$199.99 per year covers two full seasonal tune-ups (spring cooling, fall heating), priority scheduling ahead of non-members, 15% off any repairs, waived after-hours fees, and warranty registration assistance. The math works out to roughly $450 of value for $200.
The two annual visits
Spring tune-up (March-May): 22-point cooling check. Refrigerant levels, coil cleaning, capacitor test, contactor test, blower motor amps, ductwork inspection, drain line flush, filter change. Sets your system up for peak Coast summer.
Fall tune-up (October-November): full heating side check. Ignitor, flame sensor, heat exchanger inspection with CO test on gas, defrost cycle on heat pumps, sequencer on electric strip. Catches problems before the first cold snap.
Who benefits most
Any home with equipment 3+ years old benefits from the Care Plan. Skipping maintenance is what voids most manufacturer warranties, so if you have a system still under warranty, Care Plan enrollment is close to mandatory to protect it.
Care Plan also protects you from the single-highest cost in HVAC ownership: emergency-hours repair pricing. Members pay the same rate 24/7 with no premium.
What's not included
The Care Plan is preventive maintenance, not extended warranty. If a major part fails between visits, the Care Plan discount (15%) applies to the repair but doesn't cover the part cost. For true parts coverage, register your manufacturer warranty (we do this free at install) and consider extended labor warranty on new installs.
One-time tune-up option
Not ready for annual enrollment? Single tune-ups are $99.99. Same 22-point checklist, no ongoing commitment. Most homeowners try one and enroll after seeing the difference.
