01 SERVICE & PRICING

SERVICE & PRICING

How much is a service call?

$80 flat for residential diagnostic. It applies to any repair you approve. No trip charge, no distance surcharge. Service calls run $125 after 5 PM and on weekends. Commercial diagnostic is $95 flat.

Do you charge extra for weekend or after-hours service?

Yes. Service calls run $125 after 5 PM and on weekends. Standard rates apply the rest of the time, and we'll always tell you the rate before we dispatch.

Do you charge extra for far cities like Pascagoula or Hattiesburg?

No. Zero distance surcharge to any of the 12 cities we serve. Pascagoula is 45 miles from our Saucier HQ, Hattiesburg 55, and both get the same rate as calls 5 minutes from our door.

How fast can you get to me?

Same-day dispatch across all 12 cities for anyone calling before 4pm. Heat emergencies get priority. In Saucier and Long Beach we're often on-site in under an hour.

Do you answer the phone 24/7?

Yes, 24/7. During normal hours a real Keith's team member picks up. Outside those hours, our AI answering service takes the call first and a real team member follows up as soon as possible. If it's an emergency at 3am, that call gets priority.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, through Service Finance, FTL Finance, and Synchrony. 0% APR for 12-24 months and low-APR longer terms for approved credit. Application takes 5 minutes.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, check, all major credit cards, ACH, and financing. We invoice commercial accounts on approved credit terms.

Do you give free estimates for new system installs?

Yes. Free in-home Manual-J load calculation and written quote for any full system install. Repair diagnostics are the $80 flat fee (applies to repair).

02 WARRANTIES

WARRANTIES

What labor warranty do you offer?

New system installations carry a 10-year manufacturer parts warranty plus 1-year labor warranty from Keith's. Repairs come with a 1-year labor warranty on the specific work performed.

How long is the manufacturer parts warranty?

10 years on parts, through the manufacturer, registered by us at install. This applies across the brands we install: Rheem, Lennox, Trane, Daikin, Mitsubishi, and Carrier.

What voids my warranty?

Skipping annual maintenance (our Care Plan handles this), unauthorized modifications, failure to register within manufacturer window, and using non-approved replacement parts. We register everything for you at install to prevent registration issues.

Is the warranty transferable if I sell my home?

Manufacturer parts warranty is often transferable with a small transfer fee. Notify us and we'll help you handle the paperwork.

Do you honor other companies' installations under warranty?

We can service any brand under manufacturer parts warranty. Labor warranties from other companies we cannot honor, but we'll give you an honest repair quote either way.

03 EQUIPMENT & BRANDS

EQUIPMENT & BRANDS

What brands do you install?

Primary: Rheem (Triple Diamond Dealer 7 years running). Also install and service Lennox, Trane, Daikin, Mitsubishi (mini splits), Carrier, Bryant, Goodman, York, Amana.

Why do you recommend Rheem?

Coastal corrosion coatings hold up better in Gulf humidity, parts availability is strong across the Coast, and their warranties (registered at install) are among the industry's best. Being a Triple Diamond Dealer gives our customers manufacturer-direct support.

What SEER2 rating should I buy?

For most Coast homes, 15-17 SEER2 hits the sweet spot of upfront cost vs bill savings. Going to 20+ SEER2 makes sense only for very large homes or aggressive efficiency budgets. We run the math on your specific home.

Do you install variable-speed / inverter systems?

Yes. Variable-speed compressors dramatically reduce humidity on the Coast and cut short-cycling. Rheem's Prestige series and Mitsubishi mini splits both offer inverter technology. Higher upfront cost, much better comfort.

Do you sell used or refurbished equipment?

No. New equipment only, with full manufacturer warranty. Used equipment carries no warranty and typically ends up costing more within 2-3 years.

04 MAINTENANCE & CARE PLAN

MAINTENANCE & CARE PLAN

How often should I service my HVAC?

Twice a year: spring cooling tune-up and fall heating tune-up. Both are covered by the Keith's Care Plan at $199.99 annually, or $99.99 one-time for a single visit.

What's included in the Care Plan?

Two 22-point tune-ups (spring + fall), priority scheduling, 15% off any repairs, waived after-hours fees for members, discount on filters, and warranty registration assistance. Value is roughly $450 for $199.99.

How often should I change my filter?

Standard 1-inch pleated filter: every 60-90 days on the Coast (humidity fills them faster than inland). 4-inch media filters: every 6-12 months. Homes with pets or allergies: 30-45 days.

What MERV filter rating should I use?

MERV 8-11 for most Coast homes. Higher MERV (13+) restricts airflow on standard systems and can damage the blower motor. Only jump to MERV 13+ if your system was specifically designed for it.

Do I need to clean my ducts?

Every 5-7 years for most homes. Sooner after renovation, rodent activity, or if you have allergies. If your ducts don't need it, we tell you. Not everyone needs it every year like some companies push.

05 INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

How long does a full system install take?

Standard AC replacement: one day. Full system with new ductwork: two days. Mini split: half day to one day depending on zones.

Do you handle the permit?

Yes. We pull the permit with your city or county, schedule the inspection, and see it through. You never have to call the city.

Do you clean up after install?

Yes. Old equipment hauled, refrigerant recovered per EPA, drop cloths down, floors swept, trash out. Your house looks the same when we leave.

Can you install during winter?

Yes, and winter is often the smartest time. Better scheduling, no July emergency premiums, warranty fresh for the peak season.

Do I need to be home for the whole install?

First hour and the walkthrough at the end, yes. The middle 4-6 hours our crew works independently. All our techs are W-2, background checked, uniformed, drug tested.

What's included in the install quote?

Equipment, install labor, electrical and refrigerant line connections, condensate line, disposal of old system, permit, city inspection scheduling, refrigerant charge, thermostat, commissioning, and a 10-year manufacturer parts warranty plus 1-year labor. No surprise line items.

06 COAST-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

COAST-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

How do I protect my AC from hurricanes?

Before the storm: turn off at the disconnect, cover if time permits (don't cover long-term, causes condensation). Never re-energize a submerged unit. Call us for post-storm inspection before running. We prioritize storm-damage assessments.

Why does my house feel muggy even with AC running?

Your AC is undersized, oversized, or your ductwork is leaking humid attic air into the return. Coast humidity is 75-80% average. Solving this usually means a right-sized variable-speed system, sealed ducts, or a whole-home dehumidifier.

Do beach-front homes need different equipment?

Yes. Salt air corrodes standard aluminum condenser coils in 8-10 years. Beach-front installs should specify coastal-grade coil coatings (Rheem calls this 'Enviro-Guard') and stainless steel hardware. Adds $300-$600 to install, doubles unit lifespan on the beach.

How often should I hose off my outdoor unit?

Monthly rinse with fresh water is the single best coastal maintenance step. Removes salt buildup before it corrodes fins. Include this on your Care Plan and we do it during tune-ups.

Is R-22 still legal in Mississippi?

Existing R-22 equipment can still be operated, but no new R-22 has been produced since 2020. Any 'recycled' R-22 available now runs $150+ per pound. If your R-22 system leaks, replacement almost always beats recharge economically.

07 EMERGENCY & SAFETY

EMERGENCY & SAFETY

My CO detector just went off. What do I do?

Get everyone out of the house first. Call 911 if anyone feels dizzy, nauseous, or has a headache. Then call us at (228) 265-8609. We'll dispatch immediately with calibrated CO testing. Do not run the furnace until we've inspected.

My AC is smoking. What now?

Turn it off immediately at the thermostat AND the disconnect switch (outside near the unit). Do not turn it back on. Call us at (228) 265-8609. Smoking can indicate motor failure, burned wiring, or refrigerant issue, all of which need immediate service.

There's water pooling around my indoor unit.

Clogged condensate drain or overflow pan issue. Turn off the AC to prevent further water damage. Call us same-day; unaddressed condensate leaks cause ceiling damage and mold quickly on the Coast.

It's 100°F and my AC just died. How fast can you get here?

Heat emergencies get priority dispatch. Same-day, often within 2-4 hours across the Coast. Call (228) 265-8609. We're answered 24/7 and can walk you through temporary comfort steps while we roll a truck.

I smell gas near my furnace.

Turn off gas at the meter if you can safely reach it. Get everyone out. Call your gas utility (Atmos in most of the Coast) AND 911. After the gas company clears the leak, call us for furnace inspection before re-lighting.
