Why does my heat pump run auxiliary heat so often?

Either the outdoor coil is dirty, the defrost cycle failed, refrigerant is low, or the aux heat is set to kick in too aggressively at the thermostat. We diagnose the actual cause instead of just charging refrigerant.

Do heat pumps work in Mississippi winters?

Perfectly. Modern heat pumps maintain full capacity down to about 25°F and keep working (with auxiliary heat assist) below that. Coast winters rarely test the equipment.

How often should I service my heat pump?
